    Date: June 15, 2019
    Time: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM EDT
    Event Description:
Help Protect the Lake and Walk Away With Free Trees!  We'll be demonstrating proper planting techniques, discussing how natural landscaping can improve water quality, and giving away free bare-root trees and shrubs. All tree planting volunteers will receive a free Lake Champlain Land Trust t-shirt! After the tree planting, all are welcome to enjoy the scenic trails and waters of the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR). The Refuge features five kid-friendly trails with excellent birdwatching opportunities. You can also bring your kayak or canoe and explore the tranquil Missisquoi River. This event is part of the Lake Champlain Land Trust’s “It Takes a Watershed” project, an innovative watershed-scale approach to making water quality improvements that leverages the skills and dedication of local citizens to restore our waterways. The project is made possible with generous support from Patagonia. What to Bring: Work gloves, water bottle, shovel (if you have one). What to Wear: Sturdy boots, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, water bottle.
