Slavery in Sheldon Vermont
The Sheldon Historical Society, Sheldon Municipal Library and Sheldon Elementary School present “Slavery in Sheldon," a discussion of freed slave Jeffrey Brace, who lived in Sheldon from 1802-1807. Presentor Joanne Polenshek, a certified genealogist discusses Brace's story. Brace's biography, “The Blind American Slave," is available at the Sheldon Municipal Library.
